I don’t want to like Fox’s ADHD tumblr based on the fact that it’s a promotional tool (because apparently I am anti-The Man all of a sudden? I don’t know) but they really are killing it with the gifs and the consistency and while I’ve never been one to really get into primetime cartoon shows, with ADHD I’m definitely going to make an effort to DVR this one. Really fun animation in the gifs, by the way (as seen above, clearly). Also it’s the same show behind my beloved Pizza shirt.
Anyway, it’s an excellent marketing campaign with a cohesive voice behind the media — whoever is running the tumblr and gifing stuff and generally just getting the show out there is aces.

Analysis: ‘New Girl’s Surprisingly Big Opening And The iTunes Experiment | Deadline

popculturebrain:

A nice explanation from Deadline as to how New Girl became a hit despite a premiere threatening pre-release.

What I like about this is that for once, all that online marketing and Twitter buzz really has paid off in an obvious and tangible way. And obviously this was going to be a hit. I still think it’s crazy that so many people didn’t anticipate that.
